Child Care

Keeping in mind the intensive work plan of the congress it’s not advised to travel with children, nevertheless there will be a child care service for the children that travel with their parents. Further on, when we know the number and ages of the children we will offer more info about the schedule and other characteristics of this service.

Language

Simultaneous interpretation to English, French and Spanish during all the sessions. 

How To Get To Valencia

By Plane.

The international airport of Valencia Manises has connection of direct flights from the main European cities and with the city of N.YORK. Click here to see the connections.

The intercontinental connections are done through flights with stops in Madrid, Barcelona or other Spanish or European cities. The distance from the Airport to the center of Valencia is of approximately 8 Km.

Taxi: The average price for the journey Airport-Center of the City is 20 Euro.

Subway: Lines 3 and 5 leave from the airport to the city every 10-20 minutes.

By train.

The north station is situated in the center of the city of Valencia (c/ Xàtiva 24, CP 46007).

From Madrid: from Chamartín Station (connection with lines 1 and 10 of subway, “Chamartin” stop). The train has stop in the station of Puerta de Atocha (connection with line 1 of subway, “Puerta de Atocha Renfe” stop). Average time for the journey: 3h 25 min. The approximate cost of each journey is 45 euro in tourist class and 75 euro in business class. Discounts by anticipated purchase can be obtained. More information and reserves in www.renfe.es

From Barcelona: from Sants Station (connection with lines 3 and 5 of subway, “Sants-Estació” stop) Average time for the journey: 3h 10 min. The approximate cost of each journey is 40 euro in tourist class and 67 euro in business class. Discounts can be obtained by buying the bills with advance. By bus.

The bus station of Valencia is situated in Av. Menéndez Pidal 13, (2’5 km and 35 minute walk from the conference center).

From Madrid’s South Station of Buses (connection with line 6 of subway, stop “Mendez Álvaro”) the Average time for the journey is 4 hours. The approximate cost of the journey is 23 euro. Discounts in departure/return bill purchase can be obtained. More information and reserves in www.avanzabus.com

From Barcelona’s North Station (connection with line 1 of subway, “Arco del Triunfo” stop) the average time for the journey is 4 hours. The approximate cost of the journey is 25-30 euro. Discounts in departure/return bill purchase can be obtained. More information and reserves in www.alsa.es

Transportation To Arrive At The Conference Center

From the Airport:

Taxi: The distance from the Airport to the conference center is of approx. 11 Km. It’s a 15 min journey. The average cost of the taxi from the Airport to conference center is of 20- 25 Euro.

Subway: Take line 3 in the airport, stop in ÀNGEL GUIMERÀ change to line 1 and stop in EMPALME. Then there is a 200 meter walk to the conference center. Approximate time estimated is 45 minutes for the whole journey.

From the train station (Xátiva street 24):

Subway: Take line 3 in the stop XÁTIVA, stop in ÀNGEL GUIMERÀ, change to line 1 and stop in EMPALME. Then there is a 200 meter walk to the conference center. Approximate time estimated is 25 minutes for the whole journey.

Urban bus: Take bus 63 in Bailén street and stop in “Cortes Valencianas”. Approximate time estimated is 30 minutes.

From the bus station (Menéndez Pidal Avenue 13, CP 46009):

Subway: Take line 3 in the stop TURIA to the stop of EMPALME. Then there is a 200 meter walk to the conference center. Approximate time estimated is 15 minutes.

Urban bus: Take bus 63 in Pio XII street to the stop “Cortes Valencianas – Palacio de Congresos”. Approximate time estimated is 10 minutes.

Walking: 35 minutes.


Weather

Valencia enjoys a mild temperate Mediterranean climate. The average annual temperature is 17ºC with warm summers and very mild winters, rarely below 10ºC. There is only light rainfall mainly in autumn and the beginning of spring. The index of humidity is high. In the month of October the temperatures are between the 22 and 27 degrees and there is possibility of rainfall.

Other Information

Electric Connection: Standard electrical voltage in Valencia is 220-240 V AC, 50 Hz.A transformer and an adapter are necessary to use North American electrical appliances whose plugs have two square pins. Adapters are available in most hardware stores.

Money And Credit Cards:
The currency used is the euro. Most banks are open from Monday to Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Only a few branches open on Saturday mornings.

There are 24-hour automatic tellers around the city, and most (Servired, 4B, etc.) offer international services.

Most hotels, restaurants and shops in Valencia accept the main credit cards such as American Express, VISA, Mastercard, 4B, Access y Diners Club.
